Women in Focus: Jana

At its heart, this is a story about balance — between work and life, structure and intuition, aesthetics and authenticity — and about building something meaningful, one collection at a time.

Meet Jana — co-founder, stylist, and the creative force behind Port of Stars. With a natural eye for detail and a passion for materials, Jana brings a thoughtful, human approach to both style and business. In the following interview, she reflects on what she calls a distinctly feminine “superpower,” shares her perspective on true style as something deeply personal rather than performative, and offers a glimpse into the values that guide Port of Stars forward. From her appreciation of natural fabrics to her vision of growth rooted in joy and connection, Jana’s answers reveal a creative spirit grounded in both strength and sensitivity.

1. In your view, what is a distinctly feminine superpower?

I’d say one of those “female superpowers” is the ability to handle several things at once, work, keep everything in mind, run a household, take care of a family… and ideally still manage to put a warm dinner on the table. And to do it all with ease and a smile, although honestly, that smile can sometimes feel like a small miracle in itself.

Maybe it’s this combination of strength, empathy, and the ability to improvise in any situation that makes it such a subtle, yet truly powerful superpower.

2. What, to you, is an essential element of true style?

Style becomes real when clothing stops being a mask and simply reflects who you are.It comes from knowing yourself, what suits you and feels natural. It’s effortless, not overdone, and that’s why it stands out.

3. What would you love to see more of from Port of Stars in the future?

Looking ahead, I’d love for Port of Stars to bring even more joy to people, more happy, truly satisfied customers. That’s what means the most to me, and something you can simply never have enough of.

4. What do you value most about Port of Stars?

It is our constant growth, the ability to stay organized and keep moving forward with each season. Every collection takes us a step further.

We’re also an amazing team, where everyone complements each other, and together we do great work

5. Fabric is the foundation of our work — which materials do you naturally gravitate toward, and why?

Fabric is the foundation of our work, I’m naturally drawn mainly to natural materials, but other aspects matter too: weight, texture, weave, the way it’s processed, and the final finishing. That’s what inspires me and sparks my imagination. I look for originality and uniqueness, whether in texture, craftsmanship, or color, and that’s what I’m naturally drawn to.

6. If you had to describe Port of Stars in one word, what would it be?
